A.C. Whyte & Co Ltd are proud to be named Family Business of the Year 2013. The award was announced at the 16th annual Glasgow Business Awards, organised by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.
The prestigious event, hosted by comedian and Radio Scotland presenter Fred McAuley, brought together an impressive array of high profile Glasgow businesses in the city’s Thistle hotel.
The category, newly added this year, was introduced to acknowledge the achievements of established family owned businesses that have successfully fused business acumen and family engagement to create a strong culture and achieve growth.
Against impressive competition the award, proudly accepted by Jennifer, Phin honours the efforts and commitment of the team. Jennifer said: “We are delighted to be announced the winner, we have evolved over 40 years and three generations into a dynamic company, successful because we passionately protect and maintain our core family values”
Varry McMenemy, President of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce said “The rise in the number of entries was proof that local business is thriving as it emerges from the economic shadows of the past few years”.
Amongst the other winners were: Barr & Ray – Outstanding Business Award, MadeBrave – Best Performing Business (1-10 employees), Clyde Travel – Customer Service Award to name but a few.
