A.C. Whyte & Co. Ltd have been saving homeowners energy and money for over 25 years by installing External Wall insulation to homes across the UK.
Established in 1973, the family business is proudly celebrating its 40thanniversary and attributes its success to constantly evolving, adapting to the market and embracing change. The company, started as a slating and plasterer business, has flourished from its humble beginnings into a dynamic, successful family business. The early 90’s saw the company achieve approved applicator status for a number of specialist External Wall Insulation and Render Systems, which to this day is one of the company’s core services.
Under the leadership of Managing Director Bob Phin, the company increased turnover in the social housing market from £4.4m to around £13m in 2005, a 195% increase and has continued to achieve success despite a recession.
40 years is a significant milestone and the team at A.C. Whyte have taken time to reflect on the successes of the past four decades and are laying the foundations for the future. They aim to further develop their reputation for first class service by nurturing existing client relationships as well as explore new opportunities in the ECO market, as one of the UK’s first Green Deal certified installers.

Many of the staff at A.C. Whyte have been with the company for over 20 years and Bob is proud to have daughter Jennifer on board. Jennifer joined the team in June 2011 as Commercial Manager, after a successful career in advertising. On arrival she implemented a brand refresh, creating a brand that reflects the energy and innovation that is intrinsic in the company. Jennifer and the senior management team are working on a succession plan that will ensure A.C. Whyte continue to be one of the UK’s best contractors in their field.
