A.C. Whyte shortlisted for East Renfrewshire Business Awards 2012

Following weeks of anticipation, the application forms have been submitted, scores have been counted and the short list has now been unveiled for the East Renfrewshire Business awards 2012.

Vincent Waters, President of East Renfrewshire Chamber comments: “The quality of the entrants was extremely high and the short listed nominees reflect the sheer breadth of business success throughout East Renfrewshire – from small start-ups and individual entrepreneurs to long established businesses”.

Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns, principal sponsor of the East Renfrewshire Business Awards 2012, said: “Encouraging competition and rewarding success are central aspects of a dynamic local business sector and, judging by the volume and quality of entries across all award categories, it’s clear that East Renfrewshire’s local economy is as dynamic as they come!  “I’ve been delighted – though not at all surprised – by the response from local businesses to these awards and the exceptionally high standard of entries. Best of luck to all finalists, all of which look like being worthy winners. I’m sure the judging process is going to be far from easy!”

A.C. Whyte & Co. has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Performing Business Category, sponsored by A Place to Grow, and the winners will be announced by BBC’s Catriona Shearer at the Gala Dinner on Thursday 7th June at the Redhurst Hotel, Giffnock.

Cllr Tony Buchanan, East Renfrewshire Convenor for Economic Development said, “Within the Place to Grow Campaign, we are promoting new and established businesses. These business awards give us the opportunity to formally recognise the variety and high standard of businesses in East Renfrewshire.”
