A.C. Whyte recently took part in Business Fives which is Scotland’s first ever National Business 5-a-side football tournament. A.C. Whyte where competing against a variety of other companies in the professional services sector. Business Fives work with Street Soccer Scotland who are a charity involved in supporting positive change through football, where ten percent of the proceeds from this tournament went to charity. A.C. Whyte were up against 15 other teams on the day and it was a great success overall, Business Fives tweeted:
#ProfessionalServices in #Glasgow was a busy heat with 16 teams, dominated by @ACWhyteLtd who have two teams who qualified for our #finals
The semi-finals proved high scoring with 16 goals across the two games, where one of our site men Mate Laczi scored a double hat-trick, picking up the top goal scorer award. The group stage match was a tight 3-2 affair and the final was a tightly fought battle with Clark Contracts going 2 goals up early on, only to succumb to the goal scoring process of our organised A.C. Whyte team who eventually ran out 7-3 winners in a game, that was a lot closer than the score line suggests. Overall, A.C. Whyte played brilliantly on the day.
Since taking part in the football, A.C. Whyte have since went on to compete in their new golf edition, Business Fours which took place in Craigielaw at the Scottish open venue, Dundonald links.
Both A.C. Whyte teams competed in the Construction, Housing and Property heats where they were successful in attending the National Final. Companies had the chance to interact with others in their sector whilst raising funds for Beatson Cancer Charity. The heat was supported by industry partners Scottish Construction Now, Scottish Property Federation and Scottish Housing News. Business Fours mentioned in a recent article:
The A.C. Whyte team captained by Tam O’Neil beat their colleagues by one shot to qualify for the final at St Andrews Fairmont in May, helped by solid scores from Aidan Moore, Alex Neil and Steven McNellis to give them bragging rights back in the office.
The second A.C. Whyte team have since been invited to compete in the finals. The grand final will take place on the 24th of May, at the St Andrews Fairmont Golf Course. Good luck team A.C. Whyte!
