A.C. Whyte were appointed as Main Contractor by Blochairn Housing Association the strip and installation of new external wall insulation works for 102 properties in Roystonhill, across three phases, which remained occupied throughout the works. The works required internal access for the installation of new windows and gas works so careful planning was key to ensure programme timings were met. We also had to ensure safe removal of the existing external wall insulation system, comprising white polystyrene, for this we implemented larger skips which were removed on a daily bases and scaffold/skips were fully enclosed to prevent debris. The works were in a highly pedestrianised area in close proximity to a school, church and nursery therefore we had a strict traffic management plan and carefully coordinated deliveries and uplifts out with peak times.

The works:

• Strip external insulated render finish, cut back projections to give a plumb finish and prepare existing insulation substrate for over cladding with new insulated render system
• Apply new insulated render installation
• Remove existing windows and front and rear close doors and replace with new
• Renew door entry system
• Renew all eaves and soffit boarding with a foil faced product
• Work to existing gas and Virgin Media Services
• Renew all gutters and downpipes
• Repair existing roofing felt at eaves as necessary including lifting existing tiles and relaying
• Carry out improvement works to front and rear garden areas as agreed with the Client and detailed in email dated 11th December 2018.
• Carry out electrical works to front and rear close lighting including new fittings if required
