Logan, Dalrymple and Kilmaurs Capital Roof and Render Programme

AC Whyte partnered with East Ayrshire Council to deliver a transformative roof and render refurbishment programme across 490 cavity construction properties in Logan, Dalrymple, and Kilmaurs.

This comprehensive project aimed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the homes, significantly improving the living standards for residents.

Roof replacements using Russell Grampian tiles
Remedial works to the existing substrate
Extracted and filled the cavity, followed by the application of a scrim-reinforced base coat with a polymer dash receiver and a dry/smooth aggregate finish, along with smooth render reveals
Gas safety checks were conducted before and after the works to ensure safety
Removal and replacement of all gutters and downpipes, with existing downpipes rerouted to run externally
Asbestos was identified, sampled, and removed in accordance with an asbestos survey report by a licensed subcontractor
New drainage runs were installed, connecting to existing sewage lines
Replaced grassed, paved, and tarmac paths
The project utilised the local supply chain, partnering with local organisations like ‘The Zone Initiative’ and ‘CVO East Ayrshire’ to offer residents services such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and white goods uplift, ensuring a cleaner, tidier finish

The Results

We are extremely pleased with the successful completion of our External Envelope Enhancement Programme 2020/21, delivered in Dalrymple, Logan and Kilmaurs, East Ayrshire.

The project team delivered high-quality results on schedule and their proactive communication ensured disruption was minimised for our tenants throughout the process.

The housing improvements have provided warmer and more energy efficient homes for our tenants, enhanced the appearance of the properties and positively impacted the local community.
