26 – 28 Harvesters Way & 69 Dumbeg Park

AC Whyte partnered with The City of Edinburgh Council on a Design & Build project to deliver Fabric Repair Works to 21 properties across 3- and 4-storey blocks at 26–28 Harvesters Way and 69 Dumbeg Park. The project successfully achieved the design criteria maximum target of 0.19W/m²K for the external envelope through the installation of a new External Wall Insulation (EWI) system across all existing wall areas, excluding unheated external walls in common stairwells and internal party walls within shared stairwell spaces.

Collaboration with long-standing manufacturers and the supply chain, combined with the expertise of AC Whyte’s direct EWI and Roofing teams, played a crucial role in delivering the project to a high standard. As the properties remained occupied throughout the works, including kitchen and bathroom replacements, careful planning and continuous communication were essential in minimising disruption to residents.

The Results

The project delivered significant energy efficiency improvements, reducing carbon emissions and helping to combat fuel poverty for residents.

Upgrades included new roofing, gutters, windows, and doors, alongside the installation of an external wall insulation and rendering system to enhance thermal performance. Common internal and external areas were refurbished, with electrical works carried out to modernise the properties, and existing boilers were replaced to improve heating efficiency. These enhancements created warmer, more comfortable homes while ensuring long-term sustainability and compliance with PAS 2030:2019.
