Despite the economic decline A.C. Whyte & Co. Ltd. has in recent times, grown from a small business to a thriving medium sized company that employs nearly 200 people.

A.C. Whyte & Co. Ltd. was established in 1973, and now specialise in all areas of major refurbishments such as fabric repairs, roofing, roughcast and external and internal wall insulation. The current Managing Director, Robert Phin, joined the company in 1984 as a Quantity Surveyor and secured the role of MD in 1999.
Under Robert’s leadership the business has steadily increased turnover from £4.4m to £13m and began to secure main contractor works which has aided the company’s growth. Now A.C. Whyte & Co. is a leader in the refurbishment of low and high rise occupied social housing for local authorities and housing associations across Scotland and the UK.
From their new 4,500sq ft headquarters in Barrhead, A.C. Whyte & Co. Ltd. ensure all upgrades are now designed to maximise energy efficiency and dramatically reduce resident’s fuel bills.
“Although it was a tough economic climate, we had a vision for the company,” says Robert. “We felt it was the right time to broaden our services and offer additional support to our customers.
