AC Whyte is proud to announce the successful completion of a Design & Build project in partnership with The City of Edinburgh Council, delivering essential Fabric Repair Works to 21 properties across three- and four-storey blocks at 26–28 Harvesters Way and 69 Dumbeg Park.
This project focused on enhancing the energy efficiency of the properties, achieving the target of 0.19W/m²K for the external envelope. This was accomplished through the installation of a new External Wall Insulation (EWI) system across all existing wall areas, excluding unheated external walls in common stairwells and internal party walls.

Key to the project’s success was the collaboration with long-standing manufacturers and a reliable supply chain, alongside the expertise of AC Whyte’s dedicated EWI and Roofing teams. With residents remaining in their homes throughout the works, careful planning and open communication ensured minimal disruption, even with additional improvements, such as kitchen and bathroom replacements.
Project Goals & Results
Designed to support The City of Edinburgh Council’s objectives to reduce carbon emissions and combat fuel poverty, the project delivered significant upgrades. These included the installation of new roofing, gutters, windows, and doors, as well as the EWI and rendering system to improve thermal performance. Electrical works were completed to modernise the properties, and boilers were replaced to boost heating efficiency.
By meeting PAS 2030:2019 standards, the project ensures long-term sustainability and comfort for residents, reducing carbon emissions and providing warmer, more energy-efficient homes.
