A.C. Whyte recently delivered a presentation to the ECO committee of Elderbank Primary School which promoted energy efficiency in the home, safety on site and the benefits of external wall insulation, which A.C. Whyte have been installing in the Bourtreehill area of North Ayrshire.
We began working in partnership with North Ayrshire Council and Irvine Housing Association back in 2017 to deliver the Scottish Governments HEEPS:ABS funded scheme. A number of the ECO committee witnessed the benefits of external wall insulation first hand, having had the works carried out on their home.
A.C. Whyte’s Client Relationship Manager, Derek Lyon, and Marketing Executive, Jenna Wilson, heard how passionate the ECO committee were about improving their local area. Ms McAree, who is a teacher at Elderbank Primary said:
“Our focus is environmental issues and Jenna and Derek who visited us treated us to a very informative presentation about the insulation work on houses being done by A.C. Whyte within the children’s local community. They covered a wide range of issues including energy efficiency, people in the work place, pathways to work and health and safety issues.”
Ms McAree also commented:
“Throughout, the children were kept engaged by questions, hands on various materials used in the insulation process and an opportunity to try on the safety equipment used by staff. This was a positive experience and the children finished the session both interested and informed.”
The programme was well received by their ECO committee and will be rolled out to other schools where A.C. Whyte are carrying out improvement works.
