At A.C. Whyte, we recognise that investing in training and development is crucial to the success of our business. We believe in future proofing our organisation by equipping our team with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the rapidly changing construction industry.
Our commitment to training and development is not just about meeting the needs of today, but also about anticipating the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow. We understand that investing in our people ensures a strong order book and a sustainable business model for the future. In fact, we have seen significant growth in our business due to the positive impact of our investment in training and development within our team.
We take great pride in the success stories of our team, such as Kenny Mearns, Barry Cameron, and John Gillen. Kenny started his journey with A.C. Whyte as an Akademo on our A.C. Whyte Skills Academy five years ago. He was part of our first-ever cohort and successfully graduated as an A.C. Whyte external wall insulator. Throughout his career with us, he has demonstrated a can-do attitude, a willingness to help others, and a drive for career progression. Kenny has expressed his interest in becoming a Site Manager, and we are fully committed to supporting his aspirations. We will provide him with the necessary training and qualifications, and he will work closely with our experienced site managers to gain the required experience and knowledge.
Similarly, Barry Cameron joined our team just four months ago and is currently working on our Site in Cumbernauld delivering our roofing programme in partnership with Sanctuary Housing Association. With his background in roofing, he quickly proved himself to be a valuable asset to our team. A Roofing Supervisor in his previous career, we are fully committed to supporting him through his Site Management development programme and we are confident that with the right training and support, he will excel in his role.
John Gillen is a shining example of the opportunities for career progression and success at A.C. Whyte. Starting as a labourer over 20 years ago, John has worked hard to develop his skills and become a valued member of our team. With his strong work ethic, organizational skills, and team-oriented approach, John has demonstrated the potential to be a successful Assistant Site Manager. Currently serving as an Assistant Site Manager in Edinburgh, we are proud to offer him this opportunity for career progression. We have no doubt that John will continue to excel in his new role and contribute to the success of our company.
As we continue to innovate and grow, we recognise the importance of future-proofing our operations, not just for the present but for years to come. Through initiatives such as our A.C. Whyte Skills Academy and ongoing training opportunities, we support our team in reaching their career aspirations, and we are proud to see the results in the success stories of individuals like Kenny, Barry, and John. Congratulations to them, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth within the company.
