Well we did it! We conquered Tough Mudder Scotland 2016!
Team Members: Bob, Jennifer, Ryan, John, Jenna, Aidan, Lee, Mark, Stewart.
We would like to express our appreciation for your kind generosity and moral support. Your contributions were gratefully received and helped us smash our goal. As a team, we raised a grand total of £4,217.56, for our chosen charity – Glasgow’s Hospital for Sick Children. This charity is one that’s particularly close to all of our hearts, as we’ve all known someone with a sick child.
On the bus down, there was mixed feelings of anxiety and excitement as we mulled over our strategy. As we tackled the first hurdle, 11 miles to go felt a lifetime, although with teamwork and our own unique style of motivation we persevered and ensured nobody was left behind. Our feet and muscles were tired from wading through the mud but there were several hazards along the way that kept us psyched up including a plunge into 40 tonnes of ice – I think we all agreed this was the worst of the challenges. In fact, we were (almost) looking forward to the electrocution at the end as we could see the mirage of the finish line in the distance. All in all, it felt incredible to cross the finish line and we already can’t wait to get our hands on the next challenge. We honestly couldn’t have done it without your support, thank you so much.
We would also like to thank Paul & Co for providing the artwork, Glasgow Creative for printing our t-shirts, Jennifer for wearing the GoPro on her head for the full event and David at Proud Motion for creating a video collating the best footage of the day. Stay tuned for all the live footage.
